Southern Adirondack Pines Campground & Cabins is owned and operated by Dave & Cherie Hockey. We moved from the Rochester, NY area in 2003, purchasing the campground with Grant & Linda Goebel. After 10 seasons and many improvements to the property, Dave and Cherie became sole owners of SAPC&C in September, 2012.
SAPC&C has 74 seasonal campsites and 3 fully furnished cabins. We take great pride in offering clean, well maintained accommodations that make it easy for families to get away, relax and enjoy this beautiful spot in the southern Adirondack Mountains. All of our accommodations have fully stocked kitchens and bathrooms with showers -you just need to bring linens, towels, and your groceries! The entire campground has high speed WiFi and the accommodations now have smart TV's that allow our guests to access their streaming services. It means a lot to us that we've been able to build relationships with so many great people that choose to come back to SAPC&C year after year. The seasonal camping area has a distinct community feel, with many long time friendships that get rekindled each spring. Incredibly, we have some families that have been here for over 50 years!
Dave was an engineer and engineering manager at Kodak for 22 years before changing careers to run the campground. The campground continues to provide engineering challenges, as there are always electrical, plumbing, maintenance and construction projects to tackle. In 20 seasons to date, all of the work except tree removal has been done by the owners. Cherie "retired" from the guidance office at the local junior high in Jan 2017. Since then, she's been able to dedicate more time to improvements to the campground. We both hope that in the not too distant future we can do some camping and traveling of our own during the off-season.
We live year round at Pine Lake and enjoy the beauty of the area in all seasons -- well except mid to late April which is affectionately known as "mud season" to the locals! Since our sons have moved on to start their own careers, we now share our house only with Jack, a black and white rescue cat that is quite a character - you may see him out for a walk with us :)
We look forward to seeing both old friends and new this season at SAPC&C!
