The trail to Jockeybush Lake is about a 10 minute drive up Rt 10 from Southern Adirondack Pines. The trail to Jockeybush Lake is a fairly easy hike, just over 4 miles round trip.
The trail follows a stream that flows from the lake into West Sacandaga River. There is a wide variety of vegetation along the trail, including some large growths of fern. A beautiful rocky stream with several small waterfalls comes down from the right about halfway to the lake. It is a great place to take a break, and climb up to get a better view. The south east end of the lake has a beaver dam across it, allowing you to cross to an area of large, flat rocks. The view of the lake from this spot is wonderful, and it is a great place to stop for a bite to eat.
If you'd like to expand your hike, an unmarked, but easy to follow trail continues around the north shore of the lake towards Ferris Lake.
